A weekend turns into a 3 week hospital stay.
When our patient woke up on day 2 of her break her partner noticed a dense left sided weakness and a strange speech pattern.
Calls were made for an ambulance that took her straight to hospital where very quickly they diagnosed a stroke. This was definitely not expected as she is only 37 years old.
Once the family got in touch we immediately prepared to fly her home with a medical escort.
Fortunately we were also able to get her a direct admission into the stroke unit of Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
We can’t thank Harry at Medical Repatriations enough for everything he did to help bring our daughter home after she suffered a major stroke in Faro, Portugal.
Harry arranged her bed-to-bed transfer from Faro to Glasgow and made a really difficult and worrying time for our family that little bit easier. He was so helpful and reassuring throughout the whole process.
Bringing her home was so important to us, and we will always be grateful to Harry for helping make that happen.
