  • "After my father suffered a very severe stroke whilst on holiday in Turkey we used Medical Repatriations to get him home. From start to finish they were absolutely fantastic. Harry kept the family at home fully updated the whole time whilst we transported dad from Didim hospital to Bodrum airport via ambulance to an awaiting special air ambulance which then brought him back to Cardiff airport and then road ambulance to our local hospital in Pembrokeshire. The whole way he was fully supported by a doctor and paramedic who were both absolutely brilliant, and caring. The whole family are truly grateful for the service we received from Harry and his company Medical Repatriations not to be confused with a company using a very similar name. His company is on the government approved list for repatriation. Even after using his company Harry has messaged enquiring after my dad’s condition which shows how caring he is too. I can’t recommend this company enough. Thanks Harry and your team. Kind Regards" Mark Clayton
  • "Harry at Medical Repatriations was brilliant from the start of the process to the end. When you are in a position that you need a repatriation service you are likely to be quite stressed and emotional – I know I was. Harry was very calm and gave me confidence from the very start when I contacted him. He made me aware of what would be needed, and he also contacted the hospital where my son was being treated to speak directly with them to make sure he knew what was possible from their end.. He kept me in touch with how the plan was evolving and any decisions, and information that would be needed once my son was returned to the UK. My son said that he was very organised, calm and attentive whilst escorting him back. Overall he was helpful and kind all the way through the process. I would definitely recommend their services." Sarah Pohlinger
  • "In December 2022, my brother suffered a heart attack/cardiac arrest, on leaving his gym class in Bangkok. I travelled to Bangkok from Scotland to be with him during his hospitalisation. Although he received wonderful care in the Samitivej Hospital, it was important that he returned to his home and family in Scotland. Arranging repatriation proved extremely stressful until I discovered Medical Repatriation and Harry Walseth. From the moment I spoke to Harry, I instinctively knew he was a problem solver and someone I could trust. He provided reassurance at an extremely difficult time and instilled confidence that it would be possible to repatriate my brother, as a stretcher patient, back to Scotland. All the questions I had were answered speedily; so important when dealing with an anxious client. There were many hurdles to overcome but Harry was undaunted! He provided clear information at all stages of the process and gave me the support I needed. Harry, assisted by Rachel, another wonderful nurse, accompanied my brother back to Scotland. Harry also organised my travel. A long journey, involving two flights, during which my brother was looked after attentively by Harry and Rachel. The bed to bed service provided is exactly that and Harry and Rachel ensured a smooth handover of medical reports and information to the receiving consultant. Not only did Harry provide a professional service, both he and Rachel demonstrated care and compassion when looking after my brother. I cannot thank you enough for all your help." Catherine Maclennan
  • "Harry and his team are the utmost professionals. From beginning to end, nothing was too much trouble. Communication was 5 star, we were kept informed at every stage. Harry, I thank you and your team from the bottom of my heart. You made an extremely traumatic and stressful experience less so." Stephanie Austin
  • "Medical Repatriations have been outstanding ! To bring back our son Patrick from China was incredibly challenging due to issues with landing permits, Covid restrictions, Typhoons etc. In particular we want to thank Harald for being so communicative and supportive throughout the whole process. Sadly our son Patrick died on the 9th of February and he is buried in his hometown, however Harald's efforts made it possible for Patrick to spend the last 6 months of his life surrounded by his family." Inge Sabberton
  • "Harry and Rachel were very professional , friendly and unflappable when repatriating me and my dislocated hip from Portugal to Manchester. Great service and would use them again 100% ( although dont want to have to )." Andy Roast
  • "Excellent , totally professional service at a very good price. Got me home safely from the Canaria Islands to Scotland when I was very ill. My husband dealt with Harry and said he was great to deal with. We wouldn't recommend anyone else." Maureen Redmond
  • "An amazing professional company ran by a very caring team." Summer Atkinson
  • "Wonderful people to deal with . When I spoke to them they listened with empathy and were very compassionate in their dealings with me.Very reassuring during what was a very difficult time. I would recommend them 100% without hesitation." Otto Gerber
  • "Dear Harald, I can’t thank you enough for all your help. The 2 ambulance gentlemen were absolutely wonderful with my father and the journey was very much better than we could ever have anticipated. I will definitely be using your services in the future. My best wishes to you." Maria Franco
  • "Dear Harald! Thanks so much for your help! Your team is amazing! They were so professional that I stopped worrying immediately, I followed their route by flight radar. They’ve landed in Birmingham. Thanks a lot for your perfect work! we owe you so much, Best regards" Christina Loskutova
  • "Hi Harry We really can't thank you enough. You have given first class service throughout. The very fact that you called me back after my first phone call was a good sign as most people don't even do that! We'll let you know how Nick gets on and I hope you have a well deserved rest and never have to translate a Georgian medical report again! If anyone ever wants a reference please send them our way. Many, many thanks" Tanya
  • "Dear, dear Harry I assume your "job is now done" for us! As previously mentioned, I am in my early eighties, my late husband and I ran a very successful business for 30 years, and I am still on various Committees and organise many social functions. I, therefore feel very well equipped to say that in all that time I have NEVER come across anyone as wonderful as you and your Company !! This has been the worst time of my life and I don't even want to think about how we would have managed without you. Apart from all the work you have done in getting Nick back to England you have kept us completely updated all the way through which has been very much appreciated. I don't know if you have any further dealings with Coventry Hospital now, but if you don't know Nick was transferred from the Emergency Ward to the Critical Care ward during the night. Tanya and I will be visiting him tonight when she finishes work, but although I am desperate to see him I am preparing myself for a shock. If I can "shout from any rooftop" or write any letters etc., telling the whole world about how great you and your Company are, please let me know. I am happy for all the above to be shared with whoever you think fit. I am not sure which part of the Country you live in, but if it is anywhere near enough to Stratford-on-Avon that you could visit, Tanya and I would love to meet you and treat you to a slap up meal. Once again my most sincere thanks for everything" Wendy Ironmonger xx
  • "Already dad is getting hands-on physio and he was almost able to stand yesterday. There's obviously an enormous recovery process for dad, but without your assistance and dynamic response we wouldn't have been able to get him on this rehabilitation pathway. So, I wanted to take a moment to say a sincere and heart-felt thanks to you, the fearless Serbian ambulance team, the amazing flight medics Bernard & Thomas. the welcoming flight crew, and the paramedic team who seamlessly brought dad straight off the Newcastle tarmac to a bed in Cumberland Infirmary. Thanks especially to you for the fantastic work you offer at what feels like the most helpless time in a family's life. Best wishes" Jackie, Janine & Josie
  • "You never expect the worse whilst on holiday as it's never planned, but we needed medical assistance urgently for my son who was assaulted. With emotions all over the place and in some panic, the Consulate gave us Harry's (Harald Walseth) contact details. Immediately he reassured myself that he would do everything possible to help my son. Calls were answered and returned, emails replied to and always kept me up to date. His calming influence was a massive factor in helping us get through this torrid time. The whole process happened exactly the way Harry said it would from the Ambulances arrival in Tenerife to the landing time at RAF Northolt. As you can appreciate family members in the UK were also in contact with Harry looking for answers and updates. Nothing was too much for Harry, it probably felt like he was doubling up his effort having to relay information again and again. My son landed safely with quality care on board and super professional people around him. For me Harry's work was done but Harry didn't see it that way, he continues to reach out with sincere words and genuine concern. We as a family are truly grateful to Harry and can't thank him enough. Best Regards" Tony McDonagh
  • Thanks Harry for this and for all your help. Dad got to Winchester hospital last night and it’s wonderful to have him home so we can start his long-term care. The whole repatriation was seamless, apart from a small delay at Stuttgart where they were waiting for the plane to arrive, and the crew who accompanied them were excellent and took great care of both Dad and Alexis. A huge thank you to you for organising it so efficiently and being a reassuring presence throughout. After multiple frustrating calls with the insurance company is was incredibly comforting to be dealing with someone who was pleasant, competent, always available and who acted quickly to get Dad home. Kind regards, Alex Broadbent
  • We recently had to move my aged mother (92) from Scotland to South America to be closer to her family. My mother has very low mobility, bad eyesight and early dementia so not a journey to be taken lightly. While researching the medical repatriation options I was recommended to Harald and his team by another of his clients. It was not a mistake. A truly outstanding and professional service end to end. This move was undertaken during the UK airport/travel crisis, viz Plan A - cancelled due to train strikes, Plan B - cancelled due to COVID in the family, Plan C - cancelled by Heathrow airport and finally Plan D - accomplished with success. And through all the cancellations Harald and his team maintained a totally professional and accommodating service. And throughout the flights and airport waiting times Harald was exceptional in both his care for my mother and his knowledge of the airline/airport procedures. Truly an exceptional organisation. Cheers Rod Douglass
  • So grateful to you for getting us home safely. A medical emergency abroad is obviously a very distressing experience, but Medical Repatriations took so much of the stress from me. You were professional, knowledgeable, totally reliable and pro-active in making sure my husband got to the UK as quickly and as well as possible. You also worked magic and fast-tracked the admission to hospital in the UK. I highly recommend your services. Kind regards, Irene
  • Thank you so very much for the forth coming repatriation of my brother Stuart. You have been wonderful throughout all of this and it’s been comforting to know we had you there anytime of the day or night and you answered every single one of our questions.
It’s been a high strain on the whole family but we can now relax a bit knowing that he will soon be home safe and sound. Thank you once again for everything. Your reviews online say it all. You are truly the best Lisa Tattershall, sister of Stuart Haskins.
  • Harry.  Mission impossible achieved !! ....But only because Harald Walseth at Medical Repatriations was in charge.
Imraan needed to repatriate his mother , who after a severe stroke in 2016 , needed constant oxygen and is paralysed down her left hand side. In October 2020 following the death of her husband, who was also her carer, she found herself stranded 6000 miles away from her family in Cape Town.
She had been left dependant on the state and forced into considering going into a nursing home where Covid restrictions would have prevented her from seeing her family .
Her son Imraan flew over from South Africa to look after her and fly her home but it soon became apparent that the cost of this venture was beyond the reach of the family.  Quotations from some companies were astronomical and out of the question.
And then we found Harald at Medical Repatriations. Immediately he took charge of getting supporting letters from the GP and once this was achieved he began organising flights and medical clearance, arranging everything from the medical team, ambulances and oxygen.
Today despite all the quarantine and travel restrictions, I am incredibly pleased to be able to say that Imraan and his mother are happily at home with their family. Their journey was by no means easy and there were some unforeseen nail biting moments along the way which tested everyone involved.
However, without a doubt it was Harald at Medical Repatriations, with his expertise and commitment that made this all possible, Thank you , Dr Barbara Brockway Cousin and family friend.
  • Thank you for being so professional and so efficient. Mary Suerez, The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
  • Two of our very close friends, Bill and Dot, found themselves in difficulty in Tenerife, when Bill suffered a heart attack and fell to the floor hitting his head on a kerbstone. He was taken to Intensive Care and has been in a coma ever since his fall on the 14th of November. The Insurance company declined to pay anything and Dot was left in great difficulty without funds to repatriate him. A GoFundMe page was set up and it gathered enough funds to have him flown home. Medical Repatriations sorted everything out from the Ambulance in Tenerife to his hospital bed in England. They were superbly professional and very compassionate and extremely helpful. I cannot thank them enough for getting our friends home. If you ever find yourselves in this sort of situation, please call them, they are excellent at what they do. Mr Steve Spencer
  • A big thank you for all your help and support in getting us home safely. You were brilliant ! You made a potentially stressful day a dream. Thank you from the both of us. Gordon and Tessa Smith.
  • Our family would like to thank Harry and his team for the seamless ,end to end support in flying my sick father back to the uk. The team dealt with the complex situation of repatriation, ground ambulances and air ambulance, liaising with the hospital at both ends to ensure discharge and admissions as efficient as possible. After 2 days of dealing with other companies, the onus was on us as a family to arrange admission and discharge, however when we made contact with Harry, he made sure my father was returned to the Uk as quickly as possible and soon got the situation resolved. The team were compassionate , understanding and ensured my fathers health was at the forefront of the repatriation. Many thanks from the Peters family.
  • Massive thank you to you and your team ,my sister can not praise you highly enough. Peter is making good progress now he is home and this is all thanks to you. We commend you with your 5 star service. From Peter Hills family.
  • Just catching up on correspondence now we are home and would just like to thank you so much for your help and support in getting Ronnie home safely to the Uk. Thanks to your excellent organisational skills and expertise, the transfer process ran like clockwork. You took the stress out of everything, thanks again, Karen Woolvine.
  • Thank you for your help to get us repatriated. You gave us all a lot of confidence and made everything go so smoothly, George and Marilyn Walker.
  • I cant thank Rachel and Harry enough for taking a weight off my shoulders when trying to repatriate my friend from Malta who had suffered a severe stroke. They were just Brilliant, Regards, Judith.
  • Our father suffered a nasty fall in Portugal in October 2019. He fractured his skull and sustained a significant brain injury. Harry made an extremely stressful situation manageable with his constant communication and reassurance. He was always available. He organised the bed to bed repatriation efficiently and very professionally , cannot thank him and his team enough. We would not hesitate to recommend him, Kind Regards, Beverley Webb
  • I had the misfortune of fracturing my spine whilst onboard a vessel in the Indian Ocean which resulted in me receiving excellent medical care in Colombo, Sri Lanka. When the decision was made to repatriate me to the UK it was Harald who was tasked with providing the medical care I required for the long flight home on a stretcher. On first meeting Harald he immediately put me at ease with his personality, charm and professionalism. He took control of all the admin required for my transfer and ensured that all stretcher movements etc , which were required to be done, were carried out properly and with the least pain to me. He monitored my pain relief throughout the whole journey and tended my every need with humour and humility. Being injured in a far off land is extremely stressful but you can rest assured that when Harald walks into your life you will be very well cared frond the repatriation will be stress free. I cannot recommend Harald and Medical Repatriations highly enough. A true professional. George Hall
  • Well I hope no-one ever find yourselves in a similar situation to us but if you do I highly recommend Harald at Medical Repatriations. I was provided with a list of approved services by the British Consulate and he was one of the companies listed there. I contacted a few for quotes but he was the only one who showed empathy towards my situation and I got the feeling it wasn’t just a job and that he genuinely wanted to help people when they needed it most. Throughout the return journey I felt completely relaxed and every time dad moved or showed discomfort Harry reacted . If I showed concern he was also quick to reassure me and I am so grateful for that. Though we parted company at the airport Harry messaged me the next day to check how my dad was doing and how he got on at the doctors. That to me just reconfirmed how caring he is and so I would like to say once again “ Thank you for everything you done for me and dad” Clare Day
  • COMMITTED, EXPERT, PROFESSIONAL, Sept 2019 My 87yo father was deteriorating in a Malaga hospital after a broken hip. My brother and I decided on Friday night we needed to get him back to his local hospital in West London to get better care and be near the family. We couldn’t wait for insurance and bureaucracy, so decided to book our own. We got 3 quotes from the FCO website who listed Medical Evacuation firms overnight. There wasn't much in it but we chose Harry because he seemed the most knowledgeable and supportive. We were still a bit worried, transferring 18k to a small firm we had never heard of. But Harry didn’t let us down. He worked at pace, relentlessly to make it happen. We confirmed and paid by midday on Saturday. On Sunday, 23 hours later an ambulance arrived, to take us to our small medical evacuation jet. Dad had great care from a British doctor and nurse, then a seamless transfer via Biggin Hill airport to West Middx hospital. Harry even secured dad a bed here, saving us considerable stress. What a superb and crucial service. This man is a committed professional. Dad is now stable and on the mend. Jonathan Rushforth
  • No one goes on holiday expecting to fall ill, let alone end up being hospitalised and diagnosed with a serious illness. But that is the situation we found ourselves in. Being unable to sit at all, the only option was for mum was a stretcher repatriation. After nearly a week of being given the run around by by GP and local hospital at home , i cannot describe the relief when Harry rang me for the first time to tell me he and Rachel would be flying out to bring mum home. His warm reassuring voice allowed me to relax a little for the first time in weeks and i gave mum the news se was so desperate to hear - she was going home. The night before our journey Harry and Rachel came to the hospital to introduce themselves to mum. They were very candid about the journey ahead, explaining exactly what would happen, preparing mum for the parts that were likely to be the most uncomfortable and also explaining the parts where they would be able to make her most comfortable. They stayed in touch with me when it wasn’t possible for me to be physically present so that I always knew exactly what was happening. So that was the ‘Process’ but what Harry and Rachel offer is so much more than a well honed process. On paper we had a long and dis jointed journey home and to be frank I was dreading it. What I could never have expected was the outstanding level of care and compassion we received . Rachel was like a lioness protecting her cub - nothing and no one was getting in her way to ensure mum got everything she needed. Harry was the consummate professional, nothing was left to chance- he was cool and calm and acted as our advocate , intervening on our behalf so I didn’’t need to worry about a thing other than being there for my mum. And above all else , I remember the laughter. We laughed until we cried ( and snorted, rather unattractively ! ). So rather far from a day o forget it became a day that will stay with us forever. Some people are born to care and some really lucky people get to pursue a career where they can really shine. Rachel and Harry shine brightly !!! Laura Marven
  • We would like to thank you for your help in getting our Dad back to the Uk from Tenerife last month. You made a very bad situation easier to deal with. Your quick response and the organization of the return home was very professional and fast - within two days we had our Dad back in the Uk. I cant fault anything you done and would like to thank you and your staff for all your help. Dad is doing well but a way to go yet before he is up and about, Thanks again, The Knowlton Family
  • The repatriation was on the whole very efficient and professional and my husband and I felt very safe and secure throughout. Harald was very smart in appearance and professional in his manner. I was looked after very well and would not hesitate to recommend Medical Repatriations to anyone. Donna Sweet
  • Harry was most professional throughout and I cant speak too highly about his whole attitude and his caring. We were definitely well looked after and he took time to explain everything. We were made to feel like VIP’s There was nothing I felt that could have been done better. Wendy Maureen Griffiths
  • Every aspect of the repatriation was excellent and professionally managed. Well done Harry. Colin Bell
  • Hi Harry and Rachel, I’d like to say a big fat THANK YOU to you both. You were my link back to England and I’d have been so much more panicked without you .Thanks for explaining the process and remaining calm and interesting throughout. Im in a much more comfortable ward here and waiting to speak to the doctors tomorrow. If I ever get injured in a foreign country again ( Im not planning on it ), I want you guys to pick me up. Andrew Roast.
  • My daughter was dangerously ill in a Roman hospital and 24 hours after contacting Harry at Medical Repatriations we were both home in the UK and she was in bed at the Westminster and Chelsea Hospital. Harry arranged for one of his team to accompany us onto a British Airways flight home then by ambulance on arrival at Heathrow. The hospital admission was also arranged by him . It was all supremely efficient and effortless for us in an awful situation. Harry kept in touch with us throughout the whole process in the most reassuring way. We could not be more grateful to Harry and his team, who I would trust to evacuate anyone out of anywhere in a very short space of time. An absolutely first class experience despite the hugely stressful circumstances, Warmest regards, Rebecca Fitzgerald.
  • If there ever is another Dunkirk evacuation, Id put Harry in charge , Rebecca Fitzgerald.
  • Professionally Unprofessional. The way Harry and Rachel looked after us on our long journey back from Australia was amazing. It wasn’t like being treated by doctors and nurses but by family members. The care shown to both myself and my husband was nothing short of remarkable and I recommend them whole heartedly.. Mrs Jaqueline Andrews
  • Our daughter who was living in Tenerife suffered a debilitating brain injury in October last year, She was taken to hospital in Santa Cruz where she reamined in a coma. My wife and I travelled to Teneriffe to be with her and spent most of our time on buses getting to and from the hospital. Our problem was how to get her back to the UK and in to a hospital near to where we lived. We got Harald's details from the British Consulate and he took over from these, organised a place in Harrogate Hospital (our home town), organised an air ambulance and transport from Candeleria Hospital right through to Harrogate. The air crew and attending medical crew were fantastic throughout looking after even the smallest details. The handover to the doctors at the ward in Harrogate was thorough and although our daughter is still gravely ill she is now home and we can get some normality back into our lives. Harald was the consummate professional throughout the process and made (what to us) seemed so difficult…so easy. I would recommend Harald to anyone needing repatriation help and support.John Middleton
  • My Dad recently fell critically ill whilst on holiday in Moldova and a medical professional I know recommended that I use Harry at Medical Repatriations to get him home. Harry was such a pleasure to deal with. He was so helpful, knowledgable and compassionate, which is exactly what you need when you find yourself in a distressing and complicated situation. Harry thought of every logistical detail, which ensured that Dad had a smooth, safe, enjoyable journey home, receiving the highest levels of care and service from hospital bed to home. If I were ever to find myself in this awful situation again I wouldn't hesitate to use Harry.Carly Slade
  • In 2005, I suffered a nasty accident in Peru sand surfing and consequently broke my pelvis, hip and femur. As you can imagine, this was a really traumatic and scary experience for a young 19 year old on her gap year. Luckily Harald was recommended to me and flew out to my hospital in Lima to repatriate me home to the UK. From the minute he walked into my hospital room, I knew I was in good hands and that everything was going to be OK. He was so approachable and I felt really comfortable in his care, despite the 17 hour journey home! Harald really is an asset within his role and I will never forget his kindness and professionalism. I entrusted him with my life. Thank you Harald.Ruth Carreras
  • Harald was a consumate professional and helped repatriate my father from Faro in Portugal back to London. He was kind, considerate and professional. In our time of desparate need - he was a solid rock - reliable, comforting, reassuring and professional. His skills and personality were invaluable to my father - and my distressed mother. I recommend him unreservedly.Dr Paul Cozens

However my powers of imagination seem to be recovering even slower than my energy levels. So all I can do is offer you my sincere thanks for a mission expertly accomplished and very much appreciated. I guess you must have been told frequently how good at your job you are so may I add my voice of appreciation and ask you never to change careers or retire because if ever I get stuck again I shall seek you out personally to get me home. Yours very gratefullyRosalind Wilson

  • I am writing to congratulate you on the wonderful service and response that I got from your company recently. Whilst in Tenerife I was unfortunate enough to break my back and as you can imagine this was a very frightening experience not least as my family were back in the UK. Your staff were excellent and each time I spoke to someone they seemed genuinely concerned. A special thanks to Harry who escorted me home and his good humour and patience were well appreciated. Once again congratulations on a superb service, Best regards Paul Krisson
  • It is with gratitude that we note the professional assistance volunteered in caring for a sick passenger who required your assistance on board our flight today. Thank you, Dr Anomi Jayasinghe - Company Medical Officer , Captain Anushke Jeewandara - Pilot in command
