After extensive tests the initial fainting problem was found to be much more than a ‘ simple ‘ faint.
At altitude, in the reduced pressure of the aircraft cabin , our patients heart would slow down causing her to faint. This was a symptom of her undiagnosed cardiac disease . To return to the Uk safely we sent an escort over to accompany her home with oxygen and full medical kit.
Both arrived safely and our lady was taken straight to hospital for further treatment.
