Severe chest pain alerted the family to his distress and they called an ambulance immediately. Once in hospital it be became apparent that urgent stenting was necessary.

However his problems were not over yet as he didn't respond well to having the procedure and he required ventilation. 

Nearly two weeks of slow weaning off the ventilator and he was finally ready to be extubated. 

Two further infections set him back again but finally we were able to repatriate him home with 2 nurses and onboard oxygen. He is now successfully back in the UK and in hospital for further rehabilitation.
