A Lithuanian national was brought into A and E with a fractured ankle but was found to have cognitive impairment due to long term alcohol abuse.
He was also a rough sleeper, with no family or social support network to look after his increasing medical needs.
The hospital decided to arrange with us ,his transport home and at this time, due to Covid restrictions, this meant an air ambulance.
So yesterday, he finally flew home to Vilnius, to be met by his sister , who we traced through the Lithuanian embassy. They hadn't seen each other for over a year so we were only too happy to help reunite them again.
